Exhibition: Double Vision - 7 April to 22 April 2018

Posted: 2nd March 2018

A joint exhibition featuring David & Margaret Thornton. In both artists work, realism and abstraction are combined in order to heighten the intended effect.

A summation of recent work, which shows interpretations of landscapes, especially in the way in which colour and tone can be manipulated to suggest, rather than describe the actuality of the scene. In the silk paintings, there is a use of textural surface effects gained by silk threads. In both artist’s work, realism and abstraction are combined in order to heighten the intended effect.

The exhibition is to be opened by Dr Paul Green-Armytage, Associate Professor at Curtin University and President of the Colour Society of Australia.

Please RSVP attendance for the opening exhibition evening to zzGallery@kalamunda.wa.gov.au at 6.30pm on Saturday, 7 April 2018.
